Continental Divide Electric now offers a layaway program to help consumers invest in electric thermal storage heaters designed to cut heating costs.
Your co-op will give you up to six months to complete the purchase of any Steffes Corp. room unit or central heating system.
Layaways are interest-free, you don’t have to qualify and you can cancel at any time.
CDEC will refund all money paid by those who cancel their purchase – minus shipping costs if the co-op orders the unit before
cancellation has been received.
Units purchased through the layaway program, will be ordered after layaway payments total more than half of the total estimated cost* in an effort to avoid shipping costs that could be incurred by those who cancel.
It’s that simple! For details, contact CDEC’s Mac Juarez, (505) 285-6656.
* Total estimated cost: Because shipping rates and tax rates are subject to change before payment terms of a layaway agreement are completed, the actual total cost could be higher or lower than the total estimated cost made at the time the agreement is initiated. CDEC will make every attempt to keep purchasers apprised of any cost adjustments related to shipping and tax rates that could impact the final payment of the layaway agreement.
Electric Thermal Storage (ETS) room unit and central heating systems are made by the Steffes Corp., a Dickinson, N.D., company. The equipment uses low cost, "off-peak" electricity to heat homes and office. Continental Divide recently established new off-peak and peak billing rates to encourage consumers to use electricity wisely.
During off-peak hours, ETS heaters convert electricity into heat and store that heat in specially designed high-density ceramic bricks. These bricks are capable of storing vast amounts of heat for extended periods of time. This stored heat is circulated evenly and quietly by a fan inside the unit as the room thermostat calls for heat. The ETS equipment is easy to operate and requires very little maintenance. The amount of heat stored in the brick core of the heater is regulated (either manually or automatically) according to seasonal weather conditions. The on-board room temperature thermostat is set to your desired comfort level and will control the delivery of heat from the ETS heater.
