Touchstone Energy and the Discovery Channel School have created a comprehensive kit of educational materials focusing on electricity, and Continental Divide has made them available to students in grades 5th through 9th.
Last year, each middle school and junior high school in the co-op's service area received a free kit containing:
- A 17 x 22 inch poster.
- Two videos “Understanding Electricity” and Touchstone Energy's “Our Story.”
- An interactive CD-ROM.
- A lesson plan.
- 10 student activity books.
- A teacher resource guide.
Additional kits are $100 each. But Continental Divide is working with the schools to help offset the cost of more kits and student activity books.
