New Electric Service

Before electric service is established on private land, the property owner must execute any necessary rights-of-way easements granting Continental Divide a right to construct, operate and maintain its facilities. Before service is established on tribal lands, the respective tribal requirements must first be completed.

New Line Construction

If you require a new electric service built or modified, contact Continental Divide's Connect Office in Grants or Gallup. We will meet with you and review your needs to determine construction. Depending on what's involved, the process could take a month, or longer. Large services could take longer, depending on the size of the transformer needed. We do not install meter loops. Please consult with a New Mexico licensed electrical contractor.

Line Extensions

Per the Continental Divide's line extension policy (Rule 7), a line extension is the construction or modification of the co-op's electric distribution system required, in order for a customer or group of customers to receive service. Lighting

Continental Divide offers an instant rebate on the installation cost of our LED street and security lights. Click below for the rates, costs and savings for 98-watt and 174-watt LEDS. Private Area Lighting Rate

The Private Area Lighting Rate is available to all consumers within our service area, except for the lighting of public thoroughfares. Continental Divide's Engineering Department will need to provide an estimate if a new pole and transformer are required.

The Street Lighting Service Rate is available only for city and town street lighting under agreement with the governmental body within our service area. Continental Divide's Engineering Department will need to provide an estimate if a new pole and transformer are required.
